i shined a flashlight through the exhaust and intake and think it is a closed port. im going to get a piston kit soon and pull the jug for some mods.
might see how much brett would charge to take 0.40 off the base i still need to measure squish before and after the base gasket delete.

thanks jim this saw isn't the super it is just the 44mm set up it has carbon streaking on the piston and blows only 140lbs that is reason im going to pull it apart for some work. get a piston kit and clean up the cylinder.

Taking 4/10 of an inch off the base would certainly raise the compression!

You might disable the flood limiter on the carb and see how it runs if you haven't already done so. The super also has a removable restrictor on the air cover. I'm not sure if other models are the same.

This carb doesn't have a limiter I already checked
