I found this in an old Jonsered dealership that closed down a few years ago. Motor is not stuck and the chain still turns on the roller nose bar. Its missing the muffler cover and may need a coil because the plug wire is missing.
I have a 266 and so does P61 western (mike). They're both silver tagged '86 models and only 16 weeks apart. His first 3 numbers are 632 and mine is 616. His an XP and mine is an SE. We're curious what the serial number break is between SE and XP. Anybody have some info? Thanks ahead of time.
I'm curios to the difficulties of converting a chop-saw to a chainsaw. Maybe its called a cut off-saw. There's a screamin deal on a 3120k chop-saw on C/L that I'd try to get if the conversion wasn't terrible.
I thought I'd start a thread for the old "Eliminator blue top" j-reds and husqvarna saws. For those that dont know. My understanding is that Eliminator made a heavy duty hi-top air filter kit for the late 80s, early 90's pro saws. Then huskie bought the patent for their own hd top covers. K&N...
Does anybody know the K&N filter number for the old blue eliminater kits? Its got an oval shaped v-stack. My kit is for a j-red 625, 630 and 670. 61, 66 and 266 on the husqvarnas. I dont think it matters but i dont know. Thanks for any help.
I dont know if i should post this here or classifieds because i'm looking for help but will be selling.
I bought a pile of old saws and parts. There's 2-3 mid sized boxes of enveploes with NOS parts. Problem is i dont know what they fit. Some envelopes have part numbers but it'll take forever to...
So i'm having oiler issues on a couple of my 288's. What are the most common issues with these oilers. I had one eat a worm gear like it was jammed up but i could spin the "piston" with a finger. The other made oil without a bar & chain but no oil with the bar & chain. WTF!
The only info I've found for a "w" model husky is they are for the west coast. Full wrap handle and bigger dual dawgs. This one is a 268 but they probably made most of the pro saws of that era with a "w" too. I highly doubt the 268 was the only west coast. Anyone with more info?
In the past 4-5 months i've had 4 saws given to me. Left to right, 50, 272xp, 181se, 181se with 288 p/c. A couple needed lots of work. The other two didnt need much.
I was given a thin ring 181 carcass. The piston and cylinder are good. I've heard the rings are NLA. I think I saw somewhere a Stihl o64 ring is 52mm x 1.3 mm. If I'm correct would that ring work in my 181?
I'm planning on doing crank bearings and seals in my husky 181 soon. I've heard that some 181's have different sized bearings side to side. Mines an 84 model, would mine have the 2 different sizes? I've never done bearings before so it would be nice to order parts right the first time.
I picked up a 272xp that is a one owner in decent shape. I've put a kit in the carb, didnt pull welch plugs. It starts but dies in 5ish seconds. I started with 1 turn out on the low screw. If i turn it in all the way it helps. When it does run it spits gas back out of the carb. I dont have a...
