I'm curios to the difficulties of converting a chop-saw to a chainsaw. Maybe its called a cut off-saw. There's a screamin deal on a 3120k chop-saw on C/L that I'd try to get if the conversion wasn't terrible.

Wow I'm kinda lost looking at those links. I know nothing of the 3120... Greek to me! I did notice $379 for cases n bearings...ouch. That 3120k doesnt sound so good anymore. Where I live a 394xp is plenty big, usually a 288/390 is good enough.

I hear ya I have a MMWS 2188 and it's just plan out over kill here and I just grabbed a 395 for the hope of start of some milling.

How much is that 3120k?

And that price is going to be on the high side coming from parts tree.

I'm jealous of your MMWS saw, I want one. That 3120k is posted on craigslist for $250.

Cut rebar or metal. But I would consult an expert before giving up on it cuz you might have a hell of a you suck 2018 deal on your hands.

Even if you have to swap in the chainsaw PTO side case half, you'll likely still be ahead to buy it at $250 provided it runs and doesn't have any other costly issues that need to be addressed
