If you guys wanna do that, I'll build the saw. It goes to him without any knowledge of who built it, with only a Riff Raff sticker....

He doesn’t like Stihls, nor anything with a ‘puter on board. Almost never runs a saw smaller than 70cc unless it’s an antique.

That narrows the list of candidate models pretty quickly.

Good post. For now, I don’t see any sort of guilt-by-association with Buckin. He does his thing, IH sends him saws...some of them he likes. I’d be surprised if BBR knows ANY of the details around this Jessie situation, and if he does, it’s probably exclusively IH’s version of the story.

I also don’t fault him for trying to make an income, or supplemental income on YouTube. His choice, and he’s been pretty up front about his ambitions in that direction. If the content suffers, I will eventually stop watching. That’s my choice in the deal.

I generally fast forward through the “peace/love” monologue stuff, but I find the actual cutting/splitting/axe building stuff pretty informative and entertaining.

FWIW, there’s been a lot of talk about how BBR would be amazed at the difference with a professionally built saw (he does run at least a couple from Walkers already). I’d throw a few bucks toward that cause if someone here had the desire to build him one. Might be good exposure, not so much for a particular builder, but for the craftsmanship piece that this board is particularly passionate about.

If you guys wanna do that, I'll build the saw. It goes to him without any knowledge of who built it, with only a Riff Raff sticker....

I like this

I'm in. not sure what we could reasonably hope to accomplish with it though. No chance he's dumb enough to run a side by side with one of his on video and post it. Heck he barely does anything other than bloviate with little knowledge or substance.

I know he doesnt like computer saws...but I imagine one of the latest 562's fiddled with might open his eyes...he does like to use a mac 10-10 quite a bit.

I like the idea. Very generous offer. Playing devils advocate here: Where will this take us? We aren’t the ones trying to be acquitted(forum guys).
I dont think we need to teach peeps that ported worksaws are more productive and can be ultra reliable. Nor do I think we need to prove OE jugs are better than Chinese. The fact that Jesse has what he needs to carry into the woods and make a buck, sort of says it all. Discuss..

Ima say Steal & you gonna say Dolly Mara so...

He ran a 461 when he traveled for a while back & also ran a Walker 261. Said he liked both.
If we only knew a Stihl Dealer.....
Monkey Nuts could do an R Model.

MS461 1/2 adequate.

A ported Wrap saw fixes what he doesn’t like.

MS261CM

I’m Game for whatever.

He’s already run a 73 Dolly.

I agree, I don’t think it will necessarily teach anything but I think sending BBR a Forum Builder saw like MM would clear the air.

I bet he would run it side by side if asked.

Can it be a china 372?

Nope.

395XP, or 372XP OE ???

Here's my thinking on it Dewayne.

There are a lot of people who have said they enjoy watching his videos, and have learned from them.

We have been slandered as a group by one of the people he recommends on his channel. So....we can do one of two things. We can continue to post negative stuff about the guy who has been running us down, or we can rise above that and do something better.

I'm willing to do the better.

I can provide a new 372OE ported, shipped, and outfitted with the HD filter, and west coast spikes for about 800.00

Who's in?
