I still like to watch bbr videos on occasion, definitely over the top with the piece and love but also looked to be a very skilled tree guy. It actually is unfortunate that he hasn’t seen ih for who he is and it ever so slightly tarnishes him when he’s telling all his subs to go over to Harvey’s channel

I’ve learned a lot about non-by the book falling from BBR: he’s got skill.

I saved a cedar that I probably would have destroyed after watching him & August Hunicke.

Let’s get back to using YouTube as a resource.

As far as the Peace & Love,
We could all use more of that too: just don’t break in, it’s not ending well for the break-in’er.

All this will all come out in the wash.

I’m going to focus on doing me better 1st.

I think Dom @TreeLife is completely right on to call it our where ever we see it & move on.

he didnt throw the cylinder out he either put it on another saw or shipped it to someone else

So what saws has he worked on lately that would use that cylinder? Probably didn't film it.
I noticed he's making excuses for why he's not working on saws.

I wouldn’t go that far with BBR.
BBR runs Walkerized 372s & MAC 125s.

BBR is a legit West Coast Faller & tree service guy.

The Plastic Pony wool eyed BBR as well more than likely.

Remember, this is the Internet & it’s hard to hold the Truth thru 20 square inches of plastic & aluminum.

Watch this BBR video starting at 33:45.

I never said that BBR is not an extremely talented and experienced faller because that's exactly what he is. He is not however an expert on 2 stroke porting and he makes that very clear in the video I linked. If you watch any of IH's vids it's obvious that his entire following is the result of BBR's endorsement, however BBR is not in a position to tell the difference between work preformed by a true professional and one that has been bastardized by a hack. We all know that a jack ass can attack a cylinder with a grinder and it will still cut wood, but that doesn't mean it's right. I'm well aware of the limitations of the internet, if you feel like anything I've said is not true I'll take it into consideration. I do not know BBR or IH so I can only form an opinion base on the words and the work that they post for the world to see.

BBR had a couple 288xp's done by IH and he kept having problems with one of them, now we know why.

Hopefully bbr will use his brain and start seeing ironhack for the POS he is and let that dude sink to the bottom. If bbr stopped endorsing him, the Harv would probably be no more

Also the saws BBR shows off most are his vintage Pioneers & Mac's, they are composed of OEM parts. I think the work/price BBR gets would be totally different to joe-blow follower which is wrong in itself. I doubt IH would be quick to fill Buckins saws with China pot metal. And yes why BBR is very competent in his field, its falling/tree removals not small engine repair. He knows the basics & can get a saw to run but its not his field of expertise so he employs/trusts others with that. The crystal ball tells me at some point in the future he will stop endorsing IH & will regret he ever did. Once a few more IH hack-jobs go public (and they WILL), BBR will see its damaging his brand & distance himself at a rapid pace.

Not sure if you noticed when BBR was flashing the new cylinder around that the intake port looks nice and smooth compared to the one he hacked up for Jesse.

If you watch the video you will see at the end that the new P&C he sent for the 371 is another hyway one, and he sent it because "He wasn't happy with how the saw runs with the cylinder he sent it back to BBR with. And if you look closely when BBR is showing it and espousing the virtues of the plastic ass that the port is nice and smooth unlike the hack job he sold Jesse.

I don't like calling people out, or animosity of any kind. I hate confrontation but I hate thieves and charlatans more than anything. But we have dedicated threads to this guy, we have shown the world his "handiwork" and the fella that got screwed got his saw repaired properly and the saga is over. Time to move on I suppose.

Don't the youtubers have a term for this? Something like "climbers" where they bounce around getting subs from each other's channels in order to boost their own sub numbers? I think that was what was behind Ironwhores doing his "shout out" to Walt. Poach each other's subs to get the numbers up? Got to hand it to Walt though, cause to my knowledge he's never ended a video with one of those pathetic "be sure to subscribe" pleas at the end. Matty, you know how this stuff works. What's up with this?

Maybe what we are seeing with BBR is what we used to call "going commercial". Starts out as something fun and then it becomes all about growing the channel because..........well it's obvious; now we can make some money. Becomes a business, which isn't bad in and of itself. But there is a point where success will test the character of the individual involved. Where the temptation for the quick buck shoots a hole in whatever standards that person thought he had. That's where ya get $350 axe handles and other celebrity worship items. (Targeted towards those who latch on to someone elses celebrity to compensate for their own low self esteem IMO)

It's awful hard to even casually follow this Ironwhores story without smelling a rat, so for BBR to stand by his fellow youtuber, I'd have to say he's failing the character test. But he doesn't care as long as the money keeps coming in.

But the saga isn't really over until that promised refund shows up, is it? Then we can move on.

Good post. For now, I don’t see any sort of guilt-by-association with Buckin. He does his thing, IH sends him saws...some of them he likes. I’d be surprised if BBR knows ANY of the details around this Jessie situation, and if he does, it’s probably exclusively IH’s version of the story.

I also don’t fault him for trying to make an income, or supplemental income on YouTube. His choice, and he’s been pretty up front about his ambitions in that direction. If the content suffers, I will eventually stop watching. That’s my choice in the deal.

I generally fast forward through the “peace/love” monologue stuff, but I find the actual cutting/splitting/axe building stuff pretty informative and entertaining.

FWIW, there’s been a lot of talk about how BBR would be amazed at the difference with a professionally built saw (he does run at least a couple from Walkers already). I’d throw a few bucks toward that cause if someone here had the desire to build him one. Might be good exposure, not so much for a particular builder, but for the craftsmanship piece that this board is particularly passionate about.

If you guys wanna do that, I'll build the saw. It goes to him without any knowledge of who built it, with only a Riff Raff sticker....
