Weight comes into play when your in 2 feet of snow at times. I would rather get a decent size light saw and have it ported to run with a 2188 rather than lug around a heady saw anyday. There's a difference between logging all day with a saw and just using it once and a while. But I'm not gonna buy a huge ass saw just to run once and a while as it will never pay itself off that way lol. I'm getting a ported 461 heated handle 20" 3/8 .500 . That should cut decent. Thinking about a 24" bar though as I come across some trees thats a hair too big for the 20" but then again if I'm looking to get a bolt usually I cut a small piece out.

I only got two words for you fapper........Cannon Superbar

Plus, GFY
Whats the difference besides price between a cannon superbar and a oregon or stihl bar? I'm sure the guy is giving me a stihl bar and chain with the saw, of course i have to pay for it.

Hey Kozak, the Cannon reference and the GFY were for our illustrious moderator.

As far as the differences, there are some real bar experts on here that would do a better job answering than I, but I'll do my best. The Cannons are likely the longest wearing and possibly the heaviest bars out there. So, by my understanding, it would theoretically need to be dressed and, ultimately, replaced less often then the others. For a production guy, probably worth the money. For a PSP like me, we just like how they look, especially on a big Husky. I personally have no issue with Stihl bars either.

Marc had a Cannon sent to me......which I can't honestly recall ever seeing. I don't have a clue where it is, so I gotta get him a new one.

That's the story there.

I'm sure there are some AM bars that are better than Stihl, but the Stihl bars are VG.

In 20", I prefer the E bars, they are lighter than the ES, hold up very well, and are almost as light as the very best light weight competition.

A ported 461 s/b just beastly with a 20" bar.

Don't want that, never did, if it turns up, its my gift to you. I would much prefer to hold it over your head forever anyway. :firedevil: That and I can't say that you ever got it either, its been too long and I don't have tracking on it anymore. Goes back to that "take your time" error I made.

Also, it makes for a damn good story.

As for the 681, you were supposed to have it this long, I just like to *b-word like it's not my doing, but we both know it is. Run the *s-word out of it, I don't want to have to break anything in once I get it. You know I wouldn't be able to tune the damn thing anyway. :BangHead:

Seriously, I'm good, don't worry about it. I don't want to hear any more about it, unless I bring it up, and then I just want you to take it. Gonna end up with a Total or Sugi on that saw anyway. You want me to send you one? Wait a minute.........

Yeah........it was sort of a misstep to get land and cattle when I did. Took me away from some things that I needed to finish first. Now money is tight.......

It's not everyday that a guy gets the chance to buy land that adjoins him......so mistake or not, I jumped at the opportunity.

You did the right thing, we have a similar thing on our borders with a couple small tracts. I keep asking them every couple years " If you wanna sell....."

Sometimes it's less about needing the land and more about pushing out the perimeter.

Jon & Millie (my daughter and her husband) brought the land across the road, and Glenda & I bought the land that joins our property behind us. Total between us is only 28 acres, but it's mostly in good grass. Jon & I get along well enough that we have no problems with taking care of the fences, cows, etc. It was so run down that it needed a lot of work just to be able to turn out the critters. Then we "needed" hay making equipment.......
