One of my favorites. Rescued from a box out in the sand and snow for 19 dollars.

I shoulda bought the mac 1000 in the paper for 150 bucks as well.

It looks like the brand that sold the F55 as a 1655 was Norlett (another Swedish brand owned by Elux back then, not usually associated with chainsaws, but with lawn mowers etc). Maybe the 2055 was the F65 - or maybe it was about with or without AV?

What is the cylinder bore of the saw?

I only had 1 Partner. a s50 that I bought in 1982. In 2012 I gave it to a friend. It was still a good runner just missing a couple of parts. I believe I replaced one gas line on it in 30 years, one clutch, one clutch cover and top cover due to operator error and had the oiler worked on. I sure don't expect any of my newer saws to last 30 years. Of course I don't believe I will last 30 more years either.

My Partner 500. It will be getting a full rebuild in a few months when I have the time to sit and do it.

It most likely is the case gasket letting oil in. There is a o-ring around the pump piston, but it would tend to only leak while running if that were it.

That oil pump can be a real pain in the buttocks .I must have had the one in my Mac 1000 in and out a half dozen times before it worked .Changed the pick up line ,had the check valves apart ,new o-ring .Frustrated the hell out of me .Then an idea, prime the damned thing through the plug in the front of the pump.Blew enough oil to lube a 42 " bar .

One thing I did notice was the shaft and worm always had a little bit of oil on it every time I removed it .It appears to me it might be designed to weep just a tiny bit of oil down the shaft to lubricate the gear train .Something like the axle of a 3/4 and larger pick up truck lubricates the axle bearing .It would make sense there might not be enough lubrication from the oil in the fuel mix to properly lubricate a metal gear train.

At any rate it doesn't blow smoke like it has a crankcase full of oil .Oh there might be just a little wisp on a cold start but that goes away in a short .Not a big deal .

After thought for those who do not know .On that Partner /McCulloch model if you use the same bar plates as a 2100 Husky you can use Husky mount bars .Use the Mac plates ,Mac mount bars .

In addition new OEM bar plates for Mac mounts on that saw they are extremely proud of .Husky 2100 bars are cheap and also good Husky bars are plentiful and easy to find new or used .Longer 10 series bars are not so cheap so it gives you an option .
