I just swung over and checked those saws out...hot damn those are nice.

Another issue commonly overlooked is that the t-torq 372 is a lot less smooth than the earlier version 372/371xp saws. AV numbers for the saw series are significantly different.

newer 372xp/XT 71cc: top handle 4.0 m/s*s; rear handle 5.4 m/s*s
older 371/372xp 71cc: top handle 3.1 m/s*s; rear handle 4.6 m/s*s
From Husqvarna published specs for these saws

But what I am picking up that you are putting down is that the xt is more stihl like with the added vibes. I'll pass. :zpong:

LOL, I have seen the ad on AS and have been tempted, very nice indeed. No vids of the 365 that I know of.

But it was fast enough to get a third place running in the 4 cube alky class in Birch Tree..
Ran great.
We both screwed the pooch in the 4 cube gas class. Comedy of errors.

I think someone got a vid of you losing to some guy in Wappapello though..
And stuff...

So if I’m understanding right. The x-torq carb is better on an oe 371-372
I'm not sure I'd try to lead someone down that path because there's no venturi effect with that set up. The saw has to be built up to run pretty hard before it can make good use of it. I'm sure others will disagree, but it's what I've experienced with the oe 372 and also larger saws. With or without the divider.

Can you further elaborate on “no Venturi affect” Jim? I mean, there has to be a Venturi affect otherwise it wouldn’t pull fuel through the main jet. Just to support the discussion, I’m running the XT carb on my saw and my brother has the factory XPW carb on his. Both saws have a ported 75cc top end.

I shouldn't have said no effect, I should have said minimal effect.
The rwj4 has half of a venturi that works with the divider. The divider lets more flow through that venturi half when the xt system is in place. When the rwj4 is matched up with the oe boot, the larger passage opposite the venturi will start robbing all the velocity. Removing the divider also provides a little less than desired velocity at the nozzle so extra flow is needed.

This is only my own findings and experience. Others have used this conversion successfully and I'm in no way saying it isn't supposed to work. There are simple mods that can be done to the rwj4 to compensate for all that and run great, but that's not just a simple conversion.

I hope you didn’t receive my question as argumentative Jim, you have way more experience mix matching stuff than I do and just wanted to hear you experience in a little more technical detail.
Like you, I noticed that removing the divider from the RWJ4 does have an affect on how the carb responds to tuning adjustments. Especially low circuit adjustments, idle was a little wonky without the divider. I’d like to try a 385 carb and a stock hd12b (?)on my XPW just to see what it likes. Pipe dreams...lol

Thanks for the explanation bud. I understand what you’re saying. I was just wondering if it was a feasible swap because I have a 365 x-torq parts saw with the carb still on it. Was just a thought

I'm just not very good at explaining stuff through typing. Plus it's kind of hard to grunt and nod my head with my arms flailing about when using a keyboard to communicate. Lol

The HD20 from the 375k cutoff saw is another good carb to try out. It has a larger jet than the HD12 and the venturi can be bored out a bit. The main nozzle check valve on the HD12's and 20's have only one hole for fuel passage. I drill out a couple more holes and punch them back in place.
