True, but quality is irrelevant if OEM was promised.

I've no doubt you're right on all counts. The concern isn't the quality. The concern is what I was billed for.

I agree, the entire package is one of total dishonesty. Being charged for a port job when not a porting tool even came close to the jug is 100% theft.

This is a "Fúck You" rip off job.

Where to begin...

OEM parts where you can see them.

Shítty muff mod-but that's opinion.

AV buffers not popped out and cleaned. Come on bro.

Case was never split by JMS. It was split by another at one point. There is grey sealant on the case gasket and one small crack above one oil tank bolt. That should be fine. It was long ago, not 4 tanks.

Seals look AM, but I don't know. They ain't blue. I'm no expert on this. Please opine.

OEM bearings for sure. Likely original, as PTO side is shot. I'm sending back to the owner so he can feel the grittiness.

Then the jug...

Exhaust port beautiful. Better than I can do. Matched to muffler perfect. Of course, it's something one can readily see.

The intake. It's squared. Still ok.

Machining on base is by lathe. The work is *s-wordty.

Transfers 100% stock. Still could be ok.

No machine work on chamber. As in zero.

Scored on both sides of piston. Which is Hyway, by the way.

@BrokenSVT , what oil and mix do you use?

My "brand new" OEM bearings. Really puts the "O" in OEM. One is shot. View attachment 81321

That is one of the manufacturers that STIHL uses as OEM.

I have seen:
Fafnir
NTN
slacker
SKF
and I'm sure there are a couple more.
And yes, the SKF bearings I have seen were made in Portugal

Precisely.

Show us more of the ports in that cylinder. Get some light on them.

I'll put up a few more, but they're all the same. Factory porting complete with casting texture.

They look oem factory Brad. I have seeen them Portugal bearings before. OEM all worn out.

Yep. Hence my joke. They put the "Original" in OEM.

What Jason did to you and others is tragic, I have trouble fathoming how someone could be like that. I'm thinking it has to be drugs. He squandered a huge opportunity. Dumb, Dumb, Dumb!!!

However, I'm glad your saw is now in good hands. Dr Al is a heck of a guy, and builds a mean 046/460. I know, I have the first one he did, and it screams!

He actually allowed me to watch him port my jug, it was incredible! He is the real deal!

I agree on all points. I'm not sure how a person can run such a sham and not feel badly about it. It's madness really.

I'm excited to watch the progress and to feel the outcome of the work Doc is doing :)

I use the Ultra Stihl oil, and mix it heavier. I use 10 ounces of oil measured out, to 2.5 gallons of non ethanol 90 octane available locally. Makes a nice 32:1.
I don't like Stihl ultra. Can you buy some Motul 800/Belray H1R/Amsoil Saber and run at 32:1 please?

I can send you some when the saw returns to get you started.

The case has corrosion inside. Those ain't water droplets. I guess I will sand before cleaning the case halves.

The prior guy used some sealant on the case gasket. I can find only one meaningless crack. I generally don't use sealant with an oem gasket, but I think I'm gonna in this case.

Hope these halves fit in my USC. I've only got a 12 liter one.

As for the porting...

I didn't check squish, but the band is stock and has uneven burn.

The base is poorly/roughly machined.

The transfers are 100% stock. If you guys recall, @Deets066 hybrid runs stock UPPERS and is legendary. So if the timing is good, there's nothing wrong with leaving them stock.

The intake port was squared. The work isn't bad.

The exhaust is widened and is beautiful. It really is. More evidence that this is an intentional deception. Jason has talent, he just is pushing stuff through to make cash and isn't paying attention to detail.

I will time the jug at some point. With the hyway piston it was using.

@BrokenSVT has many more pics I sent him. He can post.

I need to know if the pin bearing is OEM or not. I don't know enough to be able to tell.

I'd clean up the case mating surface on a piece of glass and use both a gasket and light anaerobic sealant.
Pics of the pin bearing?

I cant understand why the uppers and lowers wouldnt at least be cleaned of casting lines and flash ..............how about the clutch, carb, and coil (have they been swapped with AM) ?

The epic dishonesty that I've witnessed from Jason .............. words cant describe what I want to say
