Muffler design??

What muffler you got on there Jim
It's a regular 394 muffler with a basic mod and single port. bolted directly on without changing the angle. That's why it sticks way up in my face. I built a bracket to allow it to attach to the two lower mount bosses for stabilization.
I have an fmf fatty expansion chamber for it.

Then what do you use to mount a pipe? I have never been around a pipe saw.
A flange must be fabricated whether it's for matching the existing connection on the pipe or making your own to match the cylinder on the saw and welding it to the pipe.

It's coming along quite nicely. Now I'm on the search for the right carb and I'm pretty sure it's gonna want an RWJ. the carb on it in the video is from my 064 pipe saw and it runs absolutely perfect on that saw but not so perfect on this build.

It's not that bad of a switch to the wj39. You flip it over and swap out the shafts and pump side cover plate. The impulse hole on the carb usually gets plugged by the boot seal as it is tightened down. The same with the RWJ, which I prefer because it's basically a bored out wj39.

I thought RWJ was a 372 carb?

It's been on the back burner until I get my requested projects done. I just finished tightening down the last bolt on Don's 505 about fifteen minutes ago. Another late night. I'll have time to tinker with it after that. I'm thinking RWJ on the carb.

I could have said customer builds but they're friends not customers. lol
I got this thing back on the bench today to mod up an RWJ carb for it and put the ignition timing in a better place. It now runs like I was intending it to. I'm gonna need to borrow my balls back from my ol lady to run this thing. hehehe.
So apparently ugly Betty had an uglier sister Agnes.

The top cover is kind of on there like a football helmet chin strap. It'll look much nicer when it gets the pipe fit up for it.

I wonder how it would do as a work saw?
