Stiga do not seem to do the 426 in Ireland, that is the one that most closely looks
like a 420 Dolmar. I see it in Poland and much further off, so if this is to be the case
then when they do not sell the saw locally parts will also not be available locally.

The 386 and 426 seem to have some parts in common, this leads me to believe
the 45cc 426 and 50cc 526 might share similar parts, and some of the places I looked
confirm this in the parts manuals, but they may not be based on Makita engines, I
simply do not know, the 426 does have the same stated kw and hp as the 420 Dolmar.

And to ruffle things up even more, Stiga have now got new model numbers and higher
prices for their 38 45 and 50 cc saws, they are 540 545 750 and 755, I wonder what if
anything did they really change, the specs still reflect the specs of the older models,
though the prices have gone up, interesting to say the least.

yeah that would be birthday and Christmas come early
That would make as many people angry as it would happy, a lot of people sold
their Dolmar / Makita saws when they heard the bad news regarding production and
parts availability.
Then there is the issue of what to call call a yellow 7900, a dolmarstiga, ??, mind blowing stuff.

Hecht 957_2.jpg This is a Hecht 957 , cylinder and chassis is very alike, on these two.
Hecht 957.jpg This image is of a Stiga 526, does anyone see anything that
can identify the cylinder the flywheel or layout in regard to it
being similar to any other brand or model of saw.

Sure looks like a 5105 to me! Imagine if Stiga bought the Dolmar brand from Makita and brought it back, wouldn't that be sweet!

After I would have punished myself for selling two new makita saws,
I would celebrate by buying a new echo.
A brand that keeps changing hands might not be the brand to trust,
then again, if Stiga paid for the rights, then they would have to try to
sell and support it.

I hope I don't sound too negative with this, but here goes:

I've held a few Stiga saws in my hands when I've been home in Norway on vacation. To me, and this is my opinion, nothing else, they are nothing but cheap clones made in China. Stiga isn't what it used to be, and it shows. Their saws feel cheap, and the use of cheap parts is everywhere. Maybe some parts will interchange with some of the Dolmar and Makita saws they are clones of, and that would be great!

To me it makes no sense they're using any real Dolmar/Makita parts. Think about a top end for a PS-5105, for example. It's $200.00. The whole Stiga saw is about $200.00. I know OEM pricing is different, but not that bad. Dolmar's cases were cast by Stihl, not by Dolmar, which adds another layer of expense to their saws. Stiga can't possibly have Stihl cast the cases and still keep the prices that low.
Look at the tank on the Stiga. It has that goofy built in scrench holder. Dolmar never did that, which to me means the tank is not a real Dolmar product.

To me this is just good business tactics by the Chinese. Clone a well built and simple saw, from a manufacturer that doesn't care anymore.

This is where all the Stiga stuff comes from: https://www.aliexpress.us/item/3256801481863667.html?gatewayAdapt=glo2usa4itemAdapt&_randl_shipto=US

I could be wrong, though. I've been wrong many times before, and I'd be delighted if I was proven wrong on this one.

I don't think any of us assumed it would be Dolmar quality. We are just curious to see if they actually got a hold of Makita's 2t rights and are trying to make copies.

My take is why pay for rights to make copies, when you can just make copies without having to pay for the rights? That's all they do anyways.

So, Andrew, do these guys have a presence in the UK?

We really don't know who has the rights to what. Like we said earlier, Andrew has a Stiga dealer nearby, so we'll know what this thing is soon enough.

Good evening Sondre youve made some good points above , another set of eyes and veiws on the situation these saws caught my eye the other week and I’ve been hoping
And wanting the brand too live on in another colour “ getting carried away ha ha

there are a few signs in there if you look closely there’s a decomp on the 5 series
And there 52cc also a primer / Purge button the old style muffler from 10- 15yrs ago
And the generic description of the saw sounds the same as the rest made in
The land of the rising sun

the parts diagram has used the Dolmar 9 letter numbers plus a zero
And the makita 7 letter numbers plus a zero

i can’t wait to see what parts interchange as there cheaper and hopefully
Available

I mean can we get 'Hecht' saws here? Apparently they are Czech.
I've never heard of them, and they apparently are only in the magyar and czech republics.
SOS Ridge seems to believe they are an exact dolmar copy...

This runs great, if this is a copy of a Dolmar, then which model,
if it is 60cc then the 6100, just curious.

This Hecht 957 is very like the Stiga I posted above, I edited that post
to include a few images of the 957 to compare.
But here it is again in video format.
