Just by looking at the video it seemed it does not work the way it normally does.
Without any comparisons in mind.
Anyway, it’s not worth another derail.

This thread about the 7310, I don't think you're off topic.

Actually, to be more specific, the torque wasn't that bad, but the max power was lower than the 572.

Otherwise, both saws are pretty similar, smooth, well built, the filtration may be a hair better on the Echo.

But the specs, especially the power seems to fit to the reality. The stock saw is slower than the concurrence.

I'm a husky guy of course, but I really hoped to see Echo reach Stihl and Husqvarna in his size of saw.

But in my opinion, this saw is a good step forward the other echo's.

I agree the video looks fake. I own the 500i (x2) and my saws will cut concrete faster than that one did on that log. At first I thought he was digging into a crotch or something, with the dust and all and you can see where the tree has been cut to shape. Even so, shoulda cut faster than that. I call BS. on the video in the most friendly way.

That’s pretty much what dall said, he just lacks the southern gentlemanly charm lol

As someone who does make a living running saws, I'm not a one brand loyalist. If it's a quality saw and works well it has a place in my shop. I currently have saws built by echo, dolmar, stihl, and husky. a few observations from an operator with decades of trigger time...

- I doubt it was intended, but the chain in Mitch's 500i video was less than fresh. Anyone with much saw experience can see there is too much dust for that to be a sharp chain.

-no way does running 1 tank through a 500i take it past its break in period.

-the echo 7310 feels like a high quality well built machine

- I would expect a well ported 73cc saw to beat a stock 79cc saw. Nothing surprising there.

- I doubt very much that the ported 7310 outruns the ported 500i's I have run. There really is no replacement for displacement. It's just the way it is

All these apples vs oranges comparison threads really do is cause a bunch of butthurt and purse swinging. It's just a forking stupid chainsaw for forks sake.

But in my opinion, this saw is a good step forward the other echo's.

The thing to remember with Echo (as with almost all Japanese-designed internal combustion engines) is that they're primarily designed to make
peak power at a lower RPM range. All of the older Echo and Shindaiwa saws are representative of this. I figured even new designs (like the 7310)
will probably carry this tradition forward somewhat. This latest design seems to be much more user friendly.

Peak torque, to be exact.
Peak power is normally set at 9500-10K.

Talking about variables is a valid point but putting Mitch's name in the same sentence with Jmssaws is a real low blow...IMO.

That it is, The two are total different. Not sure where Dallas came up with that assumption, but evidently his butt hole is sore because you are kicking his favorite brand of saw.

Haha watch out that’s about the only thing that will get you banned.

Was that a capital, “I”..??

I don't always get your grammar.
Why do you think I do it for ?

just saying what I see

Lol. Just because you see it that way, does that make it right??? I don’t think so cuz!!!

You can call Jms any name in the book and i could care less...... but calling Mitch out like that was uncalled for. He’s been around the block for a long time and hasn’t really done anything negative towards the chainsaw community. If he has, he’s stood behind it like MOST guys on this forum do.

You would fit right in on Ax men. You have a notable talent for flying off the handle with personal attacks and profanity on the forum. Back away from the keyboard for a few minutes and try to figure out how to articulate your thoughts like an adult. This juvenile temper tantrum BS has to stop. Everything should be designed to do that.
It makes them easier to port that way, and leaves plenty of room to raise the peak power rpm if a person wants. I found a stock 590 would cut faster than a stock 362 in hardwood because of it's low rpm performance. The 362 clearly had more power, but the gearing was wrong, so it under performed.

Yep, but the comparison with jmssaws is slightly too much, don't you think?
so if I ran a husky or echo and made a video and ran a dull chain and said it was the fair comparison it would be ok because it was a brand you like ?
