So aside from cylinders, pistons, carbs, crank seals, rubber parts like boot, fuel lines, impulse lines what's the opinion on after market parts most dont think about. Like dogs, nuts, bolts, screws, filters all 3 air, fuel and oil, gaskets(depending on company) etcetera etcetera?? I'm still learning but I figure dogs and air filters some people can agree on .. but I only say that because of West coast saws and Redbeard.(Damn you) I've got no experience with West coast but I do know that the bark box is somewhat popular amongst 660 owners. Well really any Stihl with 2 piece mufflers. I've heard little about Redbeard.

FYI I said damn you because if by any chance I start up a small repair company or something similar, there goes a potential name option 😂

The Red Beard filter on my 562 is the cats meow, the WCS cover and spikes that came on my 500i are pretty nifty but I have no idea if they're better than stock since I never ran it stock. I've had enough bad experiences with aftermarket oe type replacement parts to avoid 98% of them. Upgrade parts (Maxflow, Redbeard, WCS, Pro Safety) tend to be worth it at least in certain situations.

Pro safety? What's their main thing?

I have been running a $5 set of dogs off amazon on my ms661 for the past 6 momths, no difference in quality that i can see vs the oem stihl dogs so far, they are stock style, and my 661 came to me without dogs on it....(and a piston in about 25 pieces...LOL thats the only way to get a free 661🤣)

I have not had issues with after market parts, except carbs, those have been hit it miss. I do buy stuff quite often from Duke's. Carbs I have gotten there have all worked for me, the ones from Amazon, not so much (one out of three).

I buy everything aftermarket because my local stihl dealer is a &*%$, and I have not had any probs at all, exept an exhaust that was for a different model.. they ended up giving it me. So in my opinion all good.
