Wood handle axe recommendation

I have been using my fiskars x27 and isocore for several years now. I have a wandering eye

Is a wooden handle splitting axe going to be more forgiving on my elbows?

What brands offer a head similar to the x27 in both shape and weight? It has blasted through almost everything I have thrown at it. However if i can get that performance with some vibration relief I would take it

I’ve considered filling the x27 with some foam. Not sure it would do anything

Look up Tennessee Hickory. They will make em to the specs you want and very reasonable price. You can get em with no finish on em to stain or wax em to suit you.

Unfortunately, I don't think the X27 has a head that will accept a wooden handle. It's a very "modern" axe. This image came off the Fiskars website; it obviously is not my own.

There is nothing that Im aware of with a wooden handle that has a head like the Fiskars.

I'm not sure if it will help your elbows, but you might look at some good anti vibration gloves.
