Nice Wilhelm. Which chain felt best? Did you check how the chains self-feed in the cut?

Round filed Oregon EXL & LGX felt the nicest.

I didn't check for self feeding since that log was rather small in diameter, didn't wanna force the high strung saw to scream with too little load.

Generally Oregon EXL, LGX & Vanguard self feed very well, only the Archer chain won't self feed worth a dime.

Those Archers just need to be totally reworked. But they cut OK.

I am close to wearing an Archer chain out to nubs, it never came close to the cutting performance of any of my Oregon chisel chains.
The other one I have will most likely live in a storage box, I don't like it too much.

No need to be sorry, both chains came with saw purchases.
This way at least I know I won't be purchasing Archer chains.

I will utilize and wear them out on some crappy jobs same as the TriLink loops I still have.

Yeah that ax is really great.
I keep asking for blacksmiths in my area, but there don't seem to be any left.
I just might look up some paper ads to find a blacksmith that will take orders as I really want to get my ax copied.

A coworker of mine recently said he has a ax head for me, I'm curious to find out what he found.
