Why so much love for the Stihl Wrap handle (461R)?

When I was in Montana the wood hoes there told me those madsens handles were weak and didn't hold up well.

They said it was a sweet handle but the welds on the elbow cracked easy from the vibes and a hungry chain..idk..

I could see that happening, seen a lot worse on a few loggers saws around here

I love my 461R. It's easily my favorite felling saw. I'll admit I don't drop a lot of trees but when I do this is the saw I almost always reach for.

I just texted my buddy jimmy who lives in whitefish but he worked alot in Idaho..he said they weren't long for the woods with a full skip chain and day to day work.

Since we’re talking wraps, does anyone know if the 395xp OEM wrap kit on baileys also fits a 394xp?

I think the 2 saws are identical in that aspect

I don’t have the experience compared to many of you, that said for some reason the 461’s I’ve had just have a ton of torque and run really well. I like a wrap handle for felling, it just gives a hack like me more options. Heck I put a wrap handle on my non R version.
