Out in the woods cutting sugar gum, we have stihls and huskies, the stihls run fine- a mix of 461, 362, 261 and a 361, all running great.

We also have 2 576s, and a couple of 562s, all new, all junk. They are all taking turns not running, stalling out, so hard to get warm, won't rev. Everybody hates them.

I mean, seriously? WTF?

If want to try a husky get a 372 or a 390
I've owned a few 390's and thought they were heavy too,I just carried my 395,ain't much difference in weight but a big difference in how they run. All of them ported of course. 372 ain't bad but there to soft feeling and loud, same with the 390.

I was never gonna say anything but being this got posted I will. This winter after I had an engine failure on my skidded I helped a larger company out. I limbed and ran skidded. I would limb 5 - 7 loads a day they had 562s well after the first week I started bringing my own 2159 jonsered saws. The 562 was hard starting when warm and I didn't like the sometimes hesitation. Plus it seemed to be almost screaming lean with no way to richen. I thought I wanted one but not the case anymore.

I'm not fan but I do own a 395 and 394.
There both great saws and I almost always run the 95 falling but there's always a little something wrong with them, muffler falling off or the damn coil goes out bout 3 times a year.

Love the power once ported and the way they oil but it does get old.

Would agree deets. My Stihl dealer is a pretty good friend so he told me to stay away from the mtronic 661. Which is fine with me. A 461 is fine for what I need. I guess they all probably have they're problem child models.

Next to my bench at the shop, Oregon
I find it funny.....Most people I have seen that like stilhs....Hate huskies.
Most guys that like Hukies hate stihl.
I Don't like huksy because they are made by the same manufacturer that Poulan and Craftsman are made. Unless there is a higher brand husky that I have never seen. And unfortunately the newer stihls are getting pretty cheap looking as well, but the performance is still there. I've always preferred stilh because of the ease of repairing compared to husky. In the short 2 years I've been at the shop I have worked on a fair share of both.
