I've had more tics latched on to me than I can count. Trick is getting them out of yer skin before they can transmit. I've been told and heard, a few times, within 3 days. Never have let one fester more than 12-15hrs. That and they have to be removed properly. Another useful note, when ya get in from a questionable area, throw yer cloths in the dryer for 15mins. the extreme heat kills them.
