Are these still made? Were they any good? I gotta ask because my father-in-law had one, and I think a box of rocks was smarter. What was so special that makes people still talk about them? Thanks

They’re better looking Husqvarna’s, red vs orange pretty much. Excellent saws.

So are you wanting to instigate a argument or have an honest discussion?

Not even looking for a discussion. I just wanted to know why people liked them so much when we have Stihls, Echos, and in the old days, Homelites that seemed to work just fine. Just asking because I don't know. The end.

Are parts still available if I should come across one that's a good deal?
Yes and many Husqvarna parts cross too. I have heard nothing but good about them, though they seem to be a lesser known name compared to Husqvarna or Stihl. Similar with Dolmars, I had never heard of them until I started frequenting this forum....there are many brands out there and many that are good and you can still find parts for.

I always thought they were Husqvarna powerheads with upgrades. That not true?

I thought the same company, Electrolux I believe bought up Husqvarna ,Jonsered, Poulan, Pioneer, maybe some others and then the new saws had some combined technology. Something like that, possibly I am wrong?
Jonsereds had a great reputation and like said above , different paint and handle bar angle was the most difference on later models with Husqvarna.

Yes. You might have a hard time finding plastics, but most Husqvarna pieces will fit.

Yeh, Electrolux owned Husky and I assume all it's subsidiaries for about 30 years. Husky bought it back 20 years ago.
