An auto tune or mtronic saw of some kind would probably last longer.

I'd say he needs a good education in proper tuning and chain filing. Is he one to be willing to learn?

I wonder if he is around when the help is sawing. If he is, he should listen for the sounds of the saw struggling and have them stop when it is. Having several loops of chain on hand when going out to cut would be a plus too if he is not proficient at sharpening.

An auto tune saw. Pre mixed canned fuel. And 30 chains. Bring you 15 every day to sharpen. Now feed your family hamburgers instead of ramen noodles. Sell it to him as operating expenses and a tax write off.

If you feel like punishing yourself I probably have enough parts in boxes to make two or three 025's here... You would probably be better off finding a current runner though.
