What oil is best? and what ratio?

They are over rated. Sharp chain is where it's at. I went through 4 chains the other day in frozen oak with dirt in it

Not when you kill 1/16"-1/8" of several teeth on a 110dl. If it needs a touch up I will.

I swap em out too. The chains. Unless it’s brutal cold. I usually have two saws with me case I pinch one. That happens enough on some loaded branches.

We have these little 250s we use a lot that have muffler mods that aren't too loud and a timing bump that work great for what they are, I did the muffler mods with sound in mind..works good.

I bring this with me when I cut. I bring extra chains, but as long as it is just a touch up, I use same chain. Just easier for me.

Next month I'm goin on a nice job with a guy that owns a service/excavation biz that we do a lot of work with and I'm gonna get to run the balls outta some of my ported saws..there's acres that are gonna get handcut because of the terrain..nice day rate too.

I don't do discounts or favors anymore.

If I'm using my tools someone is payin..I had people take advantage of my willingness to help too many times.

I hear you. Fuel, oil, Chains, saws, and files, aren't cheap. My labor is cheap I guess. I mostly do small jobs that big tree companies don't do. I work by word of mouth. But I hear you loud and clear.
