I ran a warehouse in 2008 and as gifts for doing a good job i got my 6 worker's
Winchester 3" flipper knives i sharpened them I'm a pretty capable sharpener my family, friends and neighbors have me sharpen all their knives.
Not long after one of the workers lindsey called and said she was leaving her house one morning and some guy grabbed her and was trying to get her back in her house
She was able to get that knife out of her pocket and swing it cutting him across both arms and his chest
She said it was real deep cutting right through a jacket and whatever was underneath she was swinging wildly
And got his hands and arms several time's and she was able to run away.
Police found blood everywhere but never found him as far as i know
She thank me again for that knife.
Chop Chop !!!

Its better to be judged by 12 than carried by 6.

I agree with you, however lawyer bills in a homicide case will bankrupt you even if found not guilty. Unless the other person has a deadly weapon, my gun stays holstered and I do everything I can to escape. Of course, if the perp goes for my kid and/or wife then all restraint goes out the window and they get destroyed regardless. I really don't like confrontation, even just exchanging insults. It helps that I don't look like an easy target, being 6'3/315 and pretty muscular.

I took a federal job so i can't have any firearms in my vehicle anymore.
I just keep one handy at home
Now knives are a different story most guys here carry pocket or wear belt knives I've always had a knife on me since i was 6-7View attachment 419659
I've been carrying this little spanish handmade 3" fixed blade lately and i ordered a 4" version get one the Spanish make fine knives
And i have many flipper knivesView attachment 419660
My favorite the sencut honoris.
I worked directly across from a very violent bar in the 90s and saw firsthand how much damage a 2-3" pocket knife can do to a person
This was mostly before one handed opening knives so the drunk guy's would fight with case xx or old timer stockman knives lol
Nobody died or anything but in the 4 year's i worked overnights at a trucking outfit we saw many fights at that bar and the guy's that got cut up immediately stopped fighting and ran off
I'd think most would.

You may want to do some legal research on the legality of your knife at work, if you haven't already. See if there is any case law on it. One of my side job customers works for USPS and says that even pepper spray is verboten. Which sucks for him, having a route in a really sh!tty part of Lexington where he not only has to deal with less than upstanding citizens but every house has a mean dog in the yard.

If you need to save your life, and you are worried about your job, you got issues.

AR -15 platform is a standard platform, unlike the AR-10. As long as your lower follows the standard, it will work. Most do. What did you get?

Several years ago, I saw a video of a parking lot attempted robbery. I say attempted bc the " victim " was a competiton shooter and was armed. It's amazing how quickly he terminated the threat.
I've tried to find that video several times without luck.

We have coyotes and black bears in the woods here. I always have at least a .38 or 9mm with me when I'm out there. Last crossbow season I was walking back to my truck in near total darkness and a pack of yotes ran through the woods right in front of me. Having my S&W SD9 with 16 rounds ready to go was very comforting.

I'm a big Glock 42 fan and have two of them. I shoot them as well or even better than most full size pistols. My one gripe is that the 42 has a crappy trigger pull, even by Glock standards. Even with the OEM minus connector its about 8 pounds. You can get it down with reduced power firing pin springs, however I find that even the name brand ones will lose their tension alot faster than OEM. Was shooting one of my 42's today and had two light strikes out of 25 rounds. This was with ammo using a lot of Winchester primers that I know is very soft, hence they are used for my carry rounds. I went ahead and changed both pistols back to OEM springs. They open groups up some but are still well within minute of bad guy cranium.
