What about Hobart no one spoke two words on them Junk? I'm looking to grab a flux core maybe even harbor freight to keep in my shop for service calls. I can weld sheet metal with stick but you better be right Working on combines and the like I'm not dumping grands into one what would you think could simply do the job

I own a Hobart beta mig 170, had allot wrong with it when I first got it used, but the guys that run the weld talk forum got me wiring schematics and control board schematics with all the components and values of them that I was able to repair all the problems and get it running like a dream again. I’m a happy camper now. Also the new HF Vulcan welders look impressive.

That's where I would start.

Got some new wire after work and gave it a try. All good now. Ther was some brown dust crap ( rust dust?) that blew out the liner when i blew it out.
I could also see some rust looking residue on the spool once i got it off.

Yep, brand new. This is the wire feeder.

Picked up 2 new to us power sources before this job.

Had 1 new feeder (old style ln8) that burnt up after 3k lbs of wire. Cobbled it back together has been fine the last 4k lbs of wire. But wanted a spare just in case.

My even hook it up to make sure it's good lol.

Just bought one of these Telwin MIG 210 Dual Synergic welders. Italian company with a pretty good reputation over here and in Australia.

It allows you to run on auto, where the machine does everything according to metal size and type. Supposed to weld from car body panels (.6mm) and up. Welds aluminum, steel and SS. So far I've only welded steel, but have a boat engine bracket job coming up and will run it on SS.

I also have a German Vector Welding CT 240 plasma, TIG and Arc.

A 2500 ton forge press frame. Design change, and crack repair. Be about 15k lbs worth of wire. I'm about 18" thick under that tape.
