I have a ton of Oak, Maple, and Locust. Unfortunately it has been so mild here this winter that I didn't start a fire till Jan, and have only burned thru 4 wheelbarrows of wood. Worked hard to get ready, and don't get to see the fruits of my labor.
winter aint over, yet.. but you have seen the fruits,,just haven't had to burn much up..same here. just got done with uglies last week,,and now burning short sticks I had..haven't even started on the white oak I split this summer.. 8 cords worth...

What type of wood do you have the most of in your neck of the woods that's the most available for you to cut and burn?
I have sand and palm trees at the beach.
SO, I buy this for $1,000 per log....

Hahaha see the 1:11 mark? Yeah, I trim my logs like a beard, and then brush its teeth. That's what makes it worth $1,000 per log.

I cut a lot of this about a million years ago and now am reaping the benefits. It never burns out and never needs replacing in the stove. I probably have a ton of this stuff, have some decent size logs too. No pics of them yet.

Most of my wood is wet wood that i am burning now ,it takes off if use the weed burner to get it going ,then i stack the next 8 pieces in line on top of the stove to dry out enough to catch fire before i throw them in .

I'm burning anything but snowballs.
ash, cherry, 2 kinds of hickory, hard maple, some red oak (oaks are hard to come by), mulberry, a little hedge, walnut, 2 kinds of locust...
I don't separate species and cut, stack, burn anything I can load in my truck.
