I have a student looking for a metering lever spring for an HDB Walbro carb that is on a Poulan 3400 Countervibe... His got misplaced somehow when he was rebuilding the carburetor. They are available online for $.46, but 10 bucks for shipping. Does anyone have a spare carb laying around that could spare the spring or the entire carb for CHEAP? This is their secondary firewood saw and they don't have a lot of money. Will gladly pay for it and the ride to 64755.

Thank you!

I was out there again and forgot yesterday as I was running saws. I'll try and remember later.

Again sorry.

If someone else has one toss this guy one. I'm not even sure the carb is still there.

Just a 3400 cyl, intake block and muffler left.

I did see a HDC carb in my carb bins. See if same spring part #?

Just in case I forget to check. I shop this place in NY for hard to find stuff. They always took care of me.

5 of them $1.94 http://www.mowers4u.com/walbro-982707-walbro-metering-spring-pack-p-3189.html

Shipping $3.21
That's a good option, but they are sold out... None in Stock. I think the HDB and HDC share the same spring, if you would be willing to share with me, I will gladly give you something for the spring.
Thanks!

I will go check IPL real quick. If it matches it is yours free.

I'll just put spring in envelope and mail it. Now make sure only need the spring.

Looks like I'm working with a HDB-8. Which isn't compatible with the HDC-17. Just my luck... LOL!

That long list shows all the carbs with the spring you want. If you dont have one of those carbs for parts let me know.

As I do have some.

Ahh, I've got a HDB-8...I thought you had a HDC-17... I really just need the spring if you wanted to drop one into an envelope and put a stamp on it.

I do have that plus many more. The 17 didnt match. So I looked up carbs that matched your spring.
I seen a few in my bins that matched. Will confirm when pulled fri-sat.

Out of all the HD HDA WT HDC listed notta. Then I came across a HDB 18. It is on the matching list.

Now here is where it gets funny. Took spring out, took 2 steps across floor and lab dog cut in front of me making me side step. I drop spring on the concrete floor. :eusa_doh:
Come inside get LED hand wand type shop light. About 5mins later after crawling around on floor I found it.

Put spring in middle of hand and made closed fist, come inside told wife get a ziploc baggie, stuck whole hand in, opened shook till I seen spring in bottom of bag. :cunaooooo:
