What are the proper pressures and vacuums when testing saws? I have an 028 on my bench that I tried to pull 15inhg and it would bleed down to 10inhg and stay there. Is this ok or was i asking for too much? I left it set for 10 or so minutes and came back and it bleed down to 8inhg. I did rotate the crank and no leaks at that pont. When I applied pressure I went to 10 psi rotated crank and it held. I'm using a mity vac 8500.

As a start...I usually go with 0.5 bar on Vac and 10 psi "max " on Pressure test.

Such a slow leak means your ok. I think I've read if you lose a pound or 2 in a span of 90 seconds (I don't remember exact numbers, this is ballpark), it's acceptable. Having it stay in one place for 10 minutes would be wonderful, but what you've got is fine.

My 026 repair manual says this.

Pressure test to 7,25 psi and if it holds without dropping for 20 seconds, you're OK

Vacuum is vacuum start at -7.25 psi and if the vacuum drops to -4.25 psi or less (-4.25 to -7.25) after 20 seconds you're OK.

If you don't have a repair manual for your 028, AS is the best place to get one on the beg for manuals thread unless one of those guys is here handing out copies.
