USPS has gotten so bad in my area that the triflin drivers wont even get out of their vehicle to get the package all the way to my house. The drivers will pull into my driveway and stand on the horn until we come out and take the package from them through their window. If you do not come and get it from them, they drive away with the package and leave an "undeliverable" note in my mailbox which means that I then have to drive to the Post Office during their business hours and pick up the package. This really happens, I *s-worde ya'll not.

A mailman posted a picture he took on fb stating, there are a lot of reasons you may not get your packages on time. This might be one of them. A dog, ok. A dog with an ax, not so much.

Has anyone seen delivery drivers stopping in the road to deliver packages now? I've seen FedEx, ups, and Amazon drivers stopped in the road with their flashers on, not even pulling in driveways. Maybe it's an effort to save time but somebody's gonna get hurt with them doing this.

Pretty standard here, although we have a limited number of driveways.

Keeps them from backing over kids and pets when backing out. Not backing up without a spotter is an important fleet safety protocol, especially, when these guys are in a hurry.

Lots of curves here. Whether they're in a hurry or not they're gonna cause an accident.

I feel for the local post office people. I’ve worked with them for years and have gotten to know them. They’re normal folks who love their jobs and work very hard at them. I’ve talked with the local Post Master couple of times over lost/late packages. She tells me what a good crew she has and has no real good answers when it comes to their troubles prior to the Christmas rush which is phenomenal this year because nobody’s traveling. They’re sending their stuff in the mail. And get this. My wife IS traveling to spend time with her grandkids and she is shipping her gifts thru the mail too because it costs too much to pack them and carry them on the plane. So, the PO is getting kicked while it’s down if you ask me.
I too have several (5 exactly) packages floating around in the system and it’s infuriating. But I do believe it will all wash out eventually. I would encourage you all to have faith.

I've had, not my regular delivery person, put the packages that dont fit in my mailbox on the top of my mailbox. I live on a private drive where everybody's mailbox is at the end of the lane. For me its about 1/4 mile. Seen them do it to other people too. Free pickins. Lost a couple of packages that way.

Yup it sucks. I went to UPS unless it’s something that isn’t worth spending more than first class postage on sending. PA package was 6 days to go 66 miles. I’ve been accused of providing fraudulent tracking by eBay buyers. I’m done with eBay with the exception of crap that I probably can’t sell elsewhere. I have probably 100 saws worth of parts I wanted to list but probably not going to until February.

Well they knee capped USPS in certain areas of the country by removing sorting machines .Then now we have the seasonal over load with Christmas packages plus an already over load with on line shopping because of cov-19 .Georgia's son in law works for UPS and they are over loaded too . Stuff I've ordered on line, E-bay etc are late delivery .I've been waiting for a gift for my grandson that sat in Cincinnati not shipped for four days so far .Last I checked it's on the move .Cinci is 120 miles away .south .Straight shot right up I-75 ,maybe tomorrow

sorting machines only does letters and when they dont have enough business in one area that area gets consolidated to a different area
there was a sorting hub in clarksburg to deliver mail here 20 miles away
there was not enough business and 8 years ago they shut that hub down and moved everything to charleston which is 140 miles away
right now i have a package there that has been sitting since friday
so dont give the *B-S.... they took the sorting machines out
each package that gets sent is sorted by people why do you think boxes are so beat up when they arrive ?
i ordered a package sunday and it got shipped by fed ex yesterday delivered from winchester virginia today
i have a order from kansas from ups ordered sunday shipped yesterday and will be here tomorrow
the reason why the usps is so slow is because they can not get people to work a friend of mine who works for the usps at a sorting hub in morgantown has been doing 7 days a week and 12 hour days because of lazy *f-words who wont do more than 40 hours and management who wont hire people because it shows they needed help

Got a package ordered Dec 7, and its been sitting in the hub 30 miles from here since Dec 16 -- other stuff was ordered later
and is already here from farther away. No rhyme nor reason -- just slackers I reckon.

while my package is still sitting in a *f-wording trailer at the charleston post hub
what goes on at the usps is a yearly thing not anything new
so if you dont like the answers im giving talk to someone who works in one of the hubs

Honestly when was the last time anybody heard anything good about working for the post office? " going postal " is a phase for a reason.
