Our local post office is a crap hole. They have the worst reviews also.
Our postman retired -- he was top notch. Since then we never know when we will get out mail.
The old guy was like clock work. A while back they used to deliver all the packages first thing in the morning -- like 8:00.
Not any more.

Most of my USPS orders have been taking 2 weeks to get, 1 took 3 weeks! I'm glad we get to pay extra for 2-3 day shipping!

My UPS and FedEx packages have been taking 3-5 days.

Got some a month out now.
Amazon has been delivering in 1 to 2 days.

Shipping rates have just gotten stupid. Sent a cylinder back east, 32 dollars shipping for fed ex, I was quoted 31 at usps. Then it was 24 dollars to ship a saw muffler! Crazytimes

How come your not using flat rate boxes if you're using usps? Could ship a jug for just under $16

Ups, fed ex and usps all said that shipping is 40 to 50 percent more to be delivered to home address due to risk involved. My boss shipped a package from spokane usps and they claimed no such thing!

Local post office is not accepting flat rate boxes right now
Well thats bs. I'd question that one. Unless it's a state by state thing, I just mailed out flat rate packages the other day to members here and there was a line of people mostly with flat rate packages there as well. Stuff is so screwed up these days I don't know whats going on.

FedEx also has ‘One Rate’ boxes. It’s also cheaper if you set up an account with them.

It must have been their stellar reputation for integrity and reliability that earned the USPS the task of handling millions of presidential election ballots. I rate the dependability of the USPS system right up there with stuffing a note in a glass bottle and chucking it into the ocean. It is not just Christmas time when they suck at doing their jobs, they can be depended on to screw up most everything they touch all year long.

Not my experience.

Until some recent changes, I have found the USPS to be extremely reliable, especially with Priority Mail and Flat Rate shipping and tracking.

I have heard complaints about bulky packages, like saws. But I probably could not get someone to carry a letter to the end of the block for 50 cents, let alone across the country.

Not happy with costs to mail things out of the country, or with current delays, but some of that I blame on political leadership and incompetence.

I just mailed a cylinder USPS priority mail and it was a little over $10.

USPS capacity/service started to dwindle once it became clear it would have to handle election ballots. A friend of mine works on the sorting machines and told me that they would take a sorting machine out of service by throwing a tarp over it or something. Then eventually physically removed. It’s unclear if this was due to reduced volume, or staffing shortages.

Amazon still uses the usps if they guarantee the service. Amazon going to their own fleet of delivery drivers probably took out a chunk of usps business. Not familiar with the Amazon logistics process, but it seems inefficient to have a driver stop by 5 times a day.

If you need a guarantee you have to use USPS Priority Mail Express.

Don’t use FedEx ground if you need it there sooner than 5 days. They will sit on the package if it arrives early.

FedEx Express has a commitment date, and should issue refund if the delay falls on them.
