Don't know what I'm going to do for the ct test. Can't use same bar and chain for 6 saws. :(

How much did you hog out that muffler....it sounded like more than my mods.

Man, don't get me to lying. I've slept since then.

Did it have the pipe sticking out?

If so it was a piece of 1/2" or 3/4" conduit. I honestly can't remember....

No pipe.

Yeah I got the same problem trying to keep all these saws straight...tough to remember what all I did.

Probably one of the deflectors I press out then.

I'd say a 1" x 1/2" hole under the deflector, with around the same size opening in deflector outlet.

The test basically went as expected except for that stock saw. That thing was more than a monkey wrench.

See Above you Goofball.

That 7900 is so light because it's so Plastic.

I'm not hating, just giving my observation.
That's also the first time I've ran a Dolly.

It is fast, but I don't think it would smoke my 461 with the same tune/chain/bar length.

Are there really so much more plastic in the 7900 than in the 461? Likely the starter cover, but that's about it?

...but then I don't think it actually is much lighter either, if at all?

Matt,

Swap mufflers with Dan's saw and see what happens.

I'd be losing it a bit too. To think that a stock saw kept up with the 350 of yours that wowed everyone at the fall '15 CT GTG is just mind boggling. That saw handed the MS260 I built back then it's ass.

Pretty shocking to say the least.

You still using the 80% muffler outlet thing?

I found a gain in the MS260 you guys ran at this GTG by adding another outlet. That saws at near 150% exhaust port.

It looked to be: if you watch the video above with me running it, you'll see that I turned it over and was looking at it's underside.

No doubt it's fast, but there was a baby bar on it with a race chain.

I will have to compare more before making any additional conclusions.

What bar mount is the Dolmar?

I need to pick up a regular 461 without all the extra handle to compare; both mine and Jeremy's have moar handle for the sidewise balance.

In reality, they are probably about the same.

The bar mount of the 7900 is D009/large Husky.

However, if you want to run a Stihl 3003/D025 bar on it, the Cannon etc. adapter for the Huskys can't be used as is, as the bar bolts are closer together. Simple ring adaptors can of course be used, and there are specially made ones out there.

I am reluctant to posting any specific weight for the 7900, as reported numbers have varied "all over the place" trough the years.

I've run 28" and 9 pins with full comp on the 7900s. 461 will be close as well with quad ports.

I'm planning on 8pin full 28" for mine.

I will do the swap. That stock saw was arguably louder than mine....

I won't post anything more about the comparison in this thread...gonna try and figure out what to do for the next comparison....only have a couple weeks.

I will eventually start my own thread.

Again thanks to cutting edge and dollar for hosting

This ^^^^^
I'm betting your saws will wake up a lot more with a more open exhaust Matt. Hopefully the Dyno is operating properly and we can try some different things like switching mufflers as Al suggested.
Do you have a stock muffler we can put on my saw?
I think eric is bringing his too.
