You have peaked my curiosity. Now I may just have to run a 395.
They are very very smooth, lots of power, broad powerband. I have run em all, that is a damn fine powerhead. I feel like anything under a 28" bar on it is a waste. Just one dummys opinion

These kind of comments are making me Husky curious. If it did not cost so many leaves of cabbage it would be easier for me to cross over.

Builders my friend... You can revive a dead 394/5 quite nicely for alot less cabbage then buying a brand new one most times...That is if you are able to do the work yourself. Plus, it's extremely rewarding to bring a dead saw back to killin' trees again. :)

I thought it was Stihl or nothing a few years back. Don't get me wrong I still like Stihls

I don't have alot of experience with Stihls yet, but I know they make a damn good saw too. That said, 394/5 are simply a**-kickers! :D

My experience in use and repair has been almost entirely Stihl and I own 3 or 4 to one over husky.
Recently I rebuilt a 298XP and did a little cleaning and admiring of a 262xp before selling it. I also own a NIB 550xp and a 335xpt.
I got a little taste, and I like it.
Don’t tell Jeff or Dall.

I look forward to more husky builds, maybe it’s just the change of scenery that’s intriguing, something new to learn and enjoy.

Both brands are well built and engineered machines.

I retuned saw to 12800 where it was in cutting video. Thank you everyone for helping with the build now it's time to play with it. Its a really nice saw.
If you think it’s strong now wait till the rings seat :). Lower the rakers a bit on the chain in the video and she’ll eat.

I'm excited for that, also curious to see if I get a bit more compression as well. Thanks for the tip I'll take the rakers down.

Now you have stirred my interest even further. I've been reviving dead saws for quite a while. Only 1 Husky though -- 372XP.
On the hunt now for a 395XP

Looking forward to Bailey's kit. It just doesn't seem real. You get full wrap, dogs, and kick stand for 30$. Wrap handle is over 100$ by itself. It's all OEM right?
My kit for my 372 was all oem, and only 30 bucks. I'm sure your kit will be all oem as well.

I gotta stop buying saws for a bit but it was a hard derision. I sat on the floor of dealership for 20 min with the 395 and 372. I looked like a kid playing blocks. I wonder how I'll like the 372? My 1st and probably favorite saw is the 044, it still looks new but I rebuilt it a few years back. Let me guess the 372 beats up on it.:(
