I have never used tru-fuel 50:1 before as I can get non-ethanol fuel easily but the other day I was busy and I was already getting a order in that day so I added a couple quart cans to it. I never got around to using them until today and I am extremely puzzled. Neither of the cans/bottles had any sort of a seal to them. Just push down the cap and screw it off. There was no sort of a safety seal. It really makes me wonder if they have been returned by some unscrupulous person that used the fuel and returned the cans with straight gas. It does smell like gas but it would not surprise me if someone pulled that type of scam. Does anyone know if the quart cans have any sort of a seal? How about the "1 gallon" cans which are not a gallon?

Same for me, all of it has not been sealed under the cap. Most of the “gallons” are only 110 oz, not a true gallon. I buy it at Lowe’s in the boxes if possible. Then you get the contractor discount.

I use Harvest King fuel in the gallon cans and they do not have a safety seal, just the plastic child proof cap cover that pops off with a screw driver. At work we had some canned fuel that had been sitting for a long time, come to find out, some of the fuel had evaporated from some of the cans. We had to get a scale out and see which one were less than a full can. We pitched the less than full ones.

Husqvarna brand did not have seals on mine

Mine smell of some type of chemical but not what I would call gasoline to my untrained unscientific nose.

I've used it and vp both have no seal just a push down cap I don't even use them anymore I just get non ethanol 92 octane or 112 from the race track and mix it myself you can't trust that canned crap.

Least you know it’s not water lol
I never run 50:1 so if I bought canned gas I added oil anyway
I guess I was not clear in my question.
Yes I know it is not water.
The exact mix was not my concern.
I bought the fugging can fuel in a pinch and my butt cheeks pinched up when I saw it was not sealed.

I posted an earlier thread that has some related information and comments. Linking it here.

I expected seals a year ago.

Tru Fuel rips you off on all of their cans, gallons are not a full gallon, like quarts and 5-gallon cans. My friend had a shop and he was selling it and noticed on one of the cans that it was only 4 & 3/4 gallons, when he called his supplier they said it was for expansion. The problem is VP, Sunoco, Aspen, and all others give you the full amount. There is a YouTube video where they test 6 or eight different brands of canned gas, Tru fuel burned the dirtiest, Aspen Fuel was number one, 2nd was Stihl Moto Mix, and 3rd was VP for cleanest burning.
