I had to add a new side clutch/sprocket cover (original missing) and I added new plastic and rebuilt the chain brake. Engine was shot so I rebuilt the top end. I figure I dropped about $150 for a saw that will now last ten more years or so. It almost runs even with my MS 361.Thats a noice one! This ones not quite that nice but a pretty darn nice one owner saw.
Never checked compression, just pulled muffler and it looks pretty darn clean.I may have missed it but what was the compression readings on this cyl ?
Wondering if the rings are worn ( spit back issue?)
That's Fugly Mickey. Not a bad looking saw WoodDoctor, but it just does not have the barn find appeal of my 034 (which is also being converted to a ported 036).
The bar looks almost new, but took me about 15 minutes today just to pry the chain off of it. The cylinder actually looks good if anyone needs one.

Morning sir,Cus,
Think you have to go back to square one here. Take it apart, as in pull tank off, and vac test everything.
Make sure that no parts have any vac leak individually and put together.
It's possible you've got a wonky AM carb, it happens.
3 turns out on each screw sounds like an air leak.
I'd 100% check the flywheel key also. I had a 262 drive me nuts, wouldn't start without 47 pulls and ran crappy with spitback. Was a sheared key.
A quick cheat is to pull the plug and starter cover. Turn until the piston appears to be at TDC, then see if the flywheel magnets are in line with the coil legs.
Yep im hopin. Ill run some fuel through it at lunh and try to get it dialed in and give it back to the guy. He'll be cutting wood really soon so ill know whether or not its back to normalSounds like you are getting there.
I take that cylinder iffen you don't want it Mike? Not a bad looking saw WoodDoctor, but it just does not have the barn find appeal of my 034 (which is also being converted to a ported 036).

Awesome! Thank you Mike.Yours Jeremy.
If you want me to send it, PM your address, or I'll give it to you next time we cross paths. It is in good shape, and I was hoping it would not go to waste.
