He is 24 years old and a legend in the making. I have never seen anyone so passionate for there job. He is a damn good timber faller.:beer-toast1:
That’s amazing in my book...young man knows what he’s doing. That’s a talent right there, at his age...I don’t give a damn how you/we add it or stack it.

You’ve gotta love it, and I sure do! I’m very thankful to be able to do what we do everyday. Like @HYPERSAWS said, this strip is a little stressful, as it is very difficult to keep this big timber on the hill, and not destroy it. And staying safe in the process.

Sometimes. The problem we are having is that the ground is just so rocky and short for the old growth. A lot of them lean down hard and are rotten, and if we can side-hill them, they are really trying to jump the stumps, or just blow them out altogether.
We just keep the stumps high on a side hill lay on the steep. We usually have tons of snags of Śhit yellow Cedar or Hemlock that is sucked down the hill. (Cracked high stumps) If I can I will pull them into lay with another and if I can't then that's a riggers job to courtesy buck them off fly wood. and/or buck the 'runnaways'
Big wood is expected to break near the top over a high spot. That's the nature of the game. My first REAL job Falling on the coast; I was told to get your 41ft or just take it to the break. It was all about "take it to the break" .."clean up the break" .
It wasn't a matter of 'if' it was when.
