Happy 4th everyone!

The largest I ever cut was an estate tree, was wolfy AF and about 5 foot on the stump. None of it ended up being salvageable unfortunately but it made a helluva thump when it hit the ground.About 25 years ago, one of the biggest white pine I’ve seen in this areaView attachment 248936View attachment 248937

I cut it off fairly high to save a few feet on the other end, glad it worked out.

Mrs. Heimann asked that I carve something in the remaining stump. Not exactly my forte, so for now I just slabbed off the face towards the street with the idea that I might try carving HEIMANN in the stump.

I forgot to get a photo of the pile but after cutting and splitting it all but for now I stacked it back by my fire ring. At least it will smell nice for most of the summer.

A trio of white oaks that I cut near a house a few weeks ago. The first two leaned away from the house slightly, but the one almost touching the gutter had a hard lean back into the roof and every limb on it was hanging over the roof. Made the decision to fell it instead of climbing and rigging. Used two 5 ton comealongs to pick it up straight and send it away from the house.
