I have to ask...why the bore cut on the notch?
I answered that question on the previous page when the dude with the duce wanted to know why I done it.
If you don't like that explanation, let me know..... and I'll make up something else....lol

I wanna saw some lumber out of that log.....
That's a dandy!
Laid down two more oaks that died this summer. One red, one white both about 18-20" dbh. White was arrow straight. Red was a little sweepy. Will make nice lumber and firewood. PXL_20220929_230118248.jpg

More beautiful saw logs!
Hopefully you can find somebody willing to make em into lumber for you.
Dang distance...... I have an order for red oak right now, that log would be just what I need to finish it up.
Nice felling job too!

I actually have at least 3 sawyer I use. Two are really good, but very expensive and don't like to travel with their mills. The other is an o.k. sawyer, cheaper and only travels. I wind up trying to match the job to the sawyer. Small batches of prime logs for furniture grade quartersawn goes to the expensive guys; whereas, I get the less expensive guy out here for quick and dirty dimensional lumber, beams, etc.

The fork nearest to the camera is over 30", the one behind the 272xp is over 28" wide (didnt measure top to bottom) & measures 9ft circumference.

My longest bar is only 24" so I had to cut from both sides.

272 pulled the 24" buried like a boss!
Oak has been down over 18 months.

372wpw, with transfer work to help it run like a chainsaw should.
Probly my favorite saw in the last 15 years.
