We had one just like that last week. 100yr Silver Maple. Found concrete with the 20”…then the 28”…then the 42”. Some idiot poured concrete into a cavity 30’ in the air. I had to order some new chain loops by the end of the day…

We had some old loops that were nearly gone. They are in the trash now. Still need to take 30 minutes on the grinder to get the first chain back. The two loops I ordered were $100+ tax.

Yikes. Sorry guys. I just did a job, used a brand new loop of Carlton 28" full chisel. Hit something and ruined few cutters. I just put the cut wheel to it and continued to use it. I'll try and cut it down to a usable 24"

Could be more cost affordable to buy a 25' roll for that.

That really stinks I have yet to find concrete in a tree….so far the worst I have found are t-posts and ceramic insulators.

Found this when looking through the years photos, one of my favorites. All of these trees were within easy reach of structures.
