I don't know if it helps, but sometimes it freezes for me or will not be responsive for a few minutes. Posts take a long time to go through, etc. Not savvy on forum software, but I do recall this happening on some other forums many years ago.

I think it's more of a server issue. We've had routing failures with Godaddy in the past, and they seem to be ongoing.

His cut, his style, his preference I guess.
Maybe his boss who pays him wants it cut like that?

Just thinking out loud.

I tried a bore cut for the first time on a 14" balsam fir, which I could tell wasn't the ideal way to fell that particular tree, but I don't usually have to cut anything bigger than that. A retired pro on another forum mentioned bore cutting and I thought it was worth a try. When ever I fell a tree I always cut a Humboldt hinge, even if the tree is small enough to not need a hinge, just to practice.

I've watch people bore cut smaller stuff, and thought....WTF?

But I'm no logger.
In the woods its generally a waste of time unless you're worried about a barber chair. I use it almost exclusively in the burbs where I work though. It's nice for when everything needs to be ed zachary right to avoid fubar.

So.....notch, bore to establish hinge, leave trigger or holding wood, then trip?

He was talking about boring the heart if I'm not mistaken, but on small trees making a bore cut to se the hinge can also be a wast of time or difficult if it's very small. Coos Bay(triangle cut) is used by some on those.
But I'm more of a hack than that @Woodpecker guy, but I get them on the ground, and people pay me to do it :D.

Yeah I think I'll be okay.
What you been working on.
Hoping to get a call back on that red oak, ran the tractor for about 2 hrs tilling today. Food plots and a large area that had a bunch of trees removed and then the stumps ground out, pays the bills.
Not a tree, but this little one was close to getting cut up today .
