It was warm when I tuned it. And it was on the rich side to start.

Some days I'm into it, some days I want MTronic. I should know better, but if it takes more than a few seconds, something's usually wrong.

If we had a side view of the carb... we could see if it was gasket diaphragm gasket. Or just one gasket on top of the diaphragm, ie wrongly assembled :cool:

I always bring my tach with me. Not bother that much though. My 288 tends so do that also. It's a hyway topend.

Some saws can be finicky on the Low side adjustment because fuel puddles in a lip on the cylinder or in the intake boot. Lots of muffler outlet will make the idle and Low side more sensitive too. It depends on the saw though.

Sometimes it’s been a simple fix for me. I had a 372 that would slowly creep up in rpm as I made cuts. More than the usual 2-300 a saw gains from heating up. Sure enough the filter screen in the carb was full of sawdust. Starved the saw.
