Picked this unit up 2 years ago, used it only 6 hours last year.. this year we are getting a lot more snow.
I enjoy tinkering so I’m going to post up how I have made this unit better.
first thing I did was increase the main jet size with a drill set. I went one size larger than stock. What a difference, under load there is definitely more power to throw snow. Smoother rpm’s up top as well.
second thing I did was set the idle, I wanted it real low so I can actually talk to people without shutting the unit off. Setting it to 1500 rpm it was vibrating all over the place.
Drilled out the pilot jet one size larger and again, huge difference. Now it will idle at 1500 without shaking itself apart.
Ran it for an hour last night clearing quite a large area and pulled the plug, nice and tanned.
Pics to come
