Generally just like firearms the more you pay for a saw the better it is
In psp terms.

And here is me thinking you were a husky guy .
several times I have posted what I think of the 262xp as being a pos you must agree because you didn't list it.
Nope I never was interested in 60cc saws.
after running nearly all the husky jonsereds and stihl saws
Since the 80s
Except the 572 I haven't even seen one.
And having run and worked on most other brands of saws
Excluding autotronic whatever.
I'll stick to my favorites and I'll include
044/046/066 394 and 395 as fine saws
Post 2000 saws don't interest me much.
I'll take any saw without a primer bulb
That's why for a new small saw at the time I bought a new
Ms261 when they came out
Everyone has their preferences.

395xp, 125 mac, 2100, 372xp, 046 mag, 7900, 044, 066 flattop, 064, 288xp.
Are those in the order you favor them, the 7900 being less favorable than the 372.

Dolmar PS-7900 hands down, two decades old and still ahead of others.
Followed by Dolmar PS-7310, both just MM'ed.

Ah, well - I too say all of mine!

262xp. Great all around firewood saw. Rugged, simple, lightweight.

I always think of the "first" saws , like the McCulloch 3-25 multi angle cut or the Homelite XL-12, basically these saws set the standard by which the rest of the industry had to follow or go belly up. As others improved the over all design the rest basically copied true innovation. 500i for being the first usable fuel injection chainsaw. The comet desiel, evl twin saws, the wankel design saws.
I don't know who invented the Automatic oiler but God bless them!
The rest of the saw manufacturers are just unoriginal.

The 500i wasn’t the first fuel injected chainsaw.
