Hi,
thought I would post this quick review here. I purchased a Timber Tuff TMW-57 for about 40$. It was more of an impulse than a thoughtful purchase.
Short story is it works kinda. Decided to self clearance the U clamp on my G660 28” bar with out of box 3/8” chain. Not terribly bad but… Anyway it was really awkward on that big of a saw.
mounted it to my 16” Ryobi with old 3/8 LP chain and bar. Easier to manage.
it works but only kinda. The mount is not square to the guide so you don’t get a great square edge. It’s not out bad enough to bind in a cut but they are not always square. I’d give the accuracy at about -+1/2” for a 3” thick cut. Good enough for me I guess… more work on the jointer though.
My other option was to rent a 16” circular saw for 55$ and drag my generator down. quality would have been better. Maybe not faster but I wasn’t sure I would have time to get it done in a single day. In the future I will probably make the time for this option.
So far I have made 12 3x6s or bigger. Ehh it was cheap enough. Is my official take.
