Well... Both Walbro and Zama are back to using sealant based on brand new carbs in my inventory. Walbro is using some sort of green/clear sealant and even on their main nozzles. Zama is using some kind of filled material that is red in color. Sure would like to know what these are!

thats some special stuff. there is a tech training that goes over welch plugs and not to use super glue etc. new zama carbs built after 2012 will have ss welch plugs that are no linger service able at least they claim.
I am begining to think that these new sealants are indeed some form of cyanoacrylate, especially Walbro's. Cyanoacrylates seem to have superior resistance to BOTH gasoline AND ethanol. I think the issue might be finding the right viscosity product. Has to wick into gaps. The only other thing I can think of is that bond strength and cure rate goes way down as bond gap increases. This is why the stuff will sit open for a long time uncured but will cure almost instantly if the gap is closed.
