Throwing old chainsaws away

Have you ever done this or do you just save the junk ones because it feels wrong to toss them in the trash ?I have a shelf of old saws doing nothing ,but they are worth nothing to most also ,so should i toss them for the shelf space ?

I tossed a few a while back. The shippng for parts was way too much to justfy fixng them.

I don't toss whole saws but I'll strip them of every useable part and throw out the broken/unusable bits.

I give mine to local kids interested in small engines. I try to give them something complete so that they might have a runner if they actually follow through with it.

Drain the fuel/oil, remove the bar/chain. Sell them online for say $20 plus shipping as is, non running, parts only. Someone working on Grandpa's saw that is the same model will buy it quickly.

Some of this stuff took in on trade when i thought it would be cool to have 600 saws someday ,i am happy with 4 now so do not need these anymore ,there is a mac250 that ran when i got it in the back ,couple macs with metal tanks ,an 042 that ran when i got it ,now it runs if squirt fuel down the carb ,oiler does not work also ,a couple homie 61 saws ,i i know runs and works ,one i never tried to start ,i baby mini mac says eager beaver ,a 40cc pull-on ,the 510 chopsaw lost a piston ,i may keep that one around and fix someday ,not sure though

Put the bar/chain off of the Stihl up on Ebay now for @ $40 plus shipping. It will be sold within a day or so.
