The other cleaned side “pto” . Notice the exhaust burn , was that due to the worn engine mounts ?
In this pic, I’ve got the crank cases back together. I used some gasket paper and some non drying aviation Permatex gasket stuff.
I will dig out the drywall screw in the crank seal pic.
Btw, I heated the crank bearing on the out side and used leaverage before the bearing got to warm. I managed to get it apart just enough to cut a rough shape gasket and slide it in between . Then re cut it a bit more and then apply the gasket glupe and use the screws/bolts to pull it back together. But it did need a bit more heating on the bearing housing after it had cooled off to make sure it was snug
Not a very good pic, but you can see the drywall screw. Once in a bit. (Just enough) a slight bang around the edges to dislodge the seating it pulls out a lot easier than not disturbing it
Knocking the new ones in is just a case of noting how far (deep they in ) and drifting then new ones in with that sealing stuff I used in the base gasket.
Btw I’ve read in the stihl manuals about lubing the viton with grease. I use whatever is on hand (2stroke oil or any other lube)
