Thanks guys. I will get it split and stacked. Just what I need in the shop. I don’t have wood stove at my house, but need to get shed/shop up to usable temperature asap. I’ll be doing a close friend a huge favor by just getting it off his lawn.

Great use for it and if you get it split soonish it should be dry and good to go by winter.

My 84 year old neighbor called last night to tell me he was blocked in by an 18” fallen tree across his driveway. I was expecting something that would take a half a dozen cuts to clear and told him I can come by between calls at 930 this morning.
It was far more complicated than that. Anyway, I was there and figured I’d help the guy out. None of the tree service companies would be able to get out to his place for days. I was focused on being safe and getting the drive clear so I didn’t take any time to figure out the species - I just took some pics and figured I can do that later. The leaf pattern and pith remind me of hickory, but I’m unsure. An image search say poison sumac, I’m confident that’s wrong. What does the collective think?

I'd think Hickory as well, one clue is it should have a pretty decent aroma when cutting, I love Hickory for firewood, but rarely see/cut any
