What is it? I split one piece with a maul, split like butter. The heart has a yellow tint for sure. The leaves were long and thin.

Looks like silver maple. Leaves will curl and look thin when they dry. Bark is also thin and separating from wood in your pictures as well.

Kinda rusty and haven't been in the woods for awhile.
Went and picked a load of what was described as hickory, but it sure cut easier than any hickory I ever harvested.
Then again maybe I'm underestimating the power and balls of my 261c with a 16 inch bar/square chisel chain!!

They're not easy to snap thats for sure.I would've guessed white oak also. How are the branches? Can you bend them in half before they break? If it even will break. Could be black oak if that's the case.

Or good ole Mockernut hickory!That would be my guess.
