I got mine from Steven, and I thought he said it had the 272 coil... maybe I am mistaken.

I thought you said it was the stock coil? And it was a waste of time to have an unlimited coil for cutting firewood?

I do think it’s a waste of time put a 272 coil on a stock saw with just a muffler mod... I personally don’t see what there is to gain in that situation? The 7900 Randy ported for me had the stock 13,500 coil, and it ran great, but I don’t have that saw anymore. I now have a Solo/7910.

I looked through my PMs and the for sale threads, and saw no mention of the unlimited coil, but I could swear that’s what I was told. I’ll have to check it out now... I ran it the other day and it seemed to run pretty good. The wood was kinda small, though.

I like it, but honestly, I’ve only ran it a couple times because I don’t really want it to get all beat up. I’m going to start using it more... no sense having a saw that just sits.

The 13,500 stock coil is at least useable.

The coil on my brother in laws 7910 is horrible..

If it 12,500 I’d be surprised.. you cannot tune the SOB.
Just run it to the limiter and hope for the best.
If tuned below the limiter, the performance is poor at best. Those saws are meant to run 13k +.

I usually run a saw for about 6 months then sell it and buy another.

I've found that if you keep them out of the back of the truck they stay much nicer.
