Ps 420/421 and Makita 4300 owners . As with the 5105 , are you doing the chip flow mod ? Easy on a 5105 ...the black rubber is what you cut. 421/420 needs a bit of plastic cut out for more flow on the side case. Highlighted in black is the cut out.

More space for chips and noodles if they get pulled round and up...less times getting blocked i find.

I would like to get hold of one to compare it with my easy start model. It certainly looks narrower and trimmer.

Yes they are narrower, and if your heavy handled with the starter cord then these are perfect

Yes that's the name different parts of Europe are spelt different
Here it is " Sappie "
Dose it come in a set? Obviously I get the hammer end of it and the wedge. The spike on the Sappie is for grabbing. What is the wood piece for?

The wood piece is a wedge which you can use falling or I use it for cross cutting big timber when it's not sat on the floor very well bash it in the top to stop the lower pinch
You can get the aluminium hollow wedge to put on the end of the wooden wedge and a metal ring on the back end of the wedge to stop it splitting out from the wedge banger 1 , 2 , and 3 come as a set

Hello everybody. New guy here with a Dolly 5105. I've been a saw enthusiast my whole life, mostly using 30-40cc Poulans and Echoes. We moved to a place with bigger trees and so the time was right to get a bigger saw. A stoutly constructed 50-60cc machine with a lot of torque should be just the ticket.

I've been intrigued by Dolmars for quite awhile now. Certainly, the Sachs-Dolmar saws of the 80's are some of the best looking I've ever seen. So, I scored a gently used 5105 with 3/8" pitch 20" bar and chain for $190.00 on Fleabay. It still has the original bar and probably the chain as well.

This particular one has the Zama C1U-DM13B carb with the adjustments glued in place. The saw starts and revs easily and the spark plug is a nice coffee brown color so mebbe it's set right. I'll put it on the tach before I do any serious cutting to make sure. I found a new adjustable carb for only $37.00 so I went ahead and ordered it. Look forward to making some serious chips with this saw!
