Oh I blipped it more than a few times.

It's loud with the muffler. Assuming the XS compression is helping make it louder.

Kevin's MM on my XS EA5000 is brutal to unprotected ears!
I love her scream, a little high pitched for my liking but still wow.

Had some fun today.
PS-6400 performed admirably, 20" B&C. Bucking and noodling.

PS-7900 I made the chain too aggressive for turkey oak, was fine in beech at the neighbors firewood log pile, 24" B&C, full comp chisel chain.

PS-9010 had chip clearing issues, 36" B&C full comp chisel chain fully buried. Was fine in a smaller diameter log. Gotta swap over the modded muffler and retune. First cuts with the 36" B&C setup.

I haven't had this much saw time in one day in a long time, I have missed the fun of it.
But I am aching now, out of shape, over did it.

Dolmar FTW!

Considering the 9010, I can keep my eyes open for one for You.

In regards to ported 7900's, high revving saws do not fare well in hard dense turkey oak which is the firewood of my choice.
Moderate rpm and high torque is what I like.
Buuuttt, I have two 79's!

Sounds good to me.

You don't have to port for high rpm, just port for torque.

The one I just did has both rpm and torque...if you do it right...it just gets

Another Dolmar PS-6800i to rebuild. Chain brake and wrap handle are included but undone for shipping.
My backlog of saws awaiting maintenance piles up :hmmm:
You can send that one to me lol those are awesome saws

I believe she doesn't want to leave.
And yes I know: I love cutting with my 120si which is the predecessor of 6800i.
In the foto's foreground you see another 120si waiting for service

I am having some saw fun today.

Dolmar PS-9010, factory stock but with modded muffler swapped on.
Full comp full chisel 36" 115DL 3/8" B&C, Archer FastFiler round filed, Carlton A2LM.
The turkey oak log is 48" at the butt end, as such the 36" bar was fully buried.
The PS-9010 performed admirably, the modded muffler certainly woke her up a fair bit!
Third picture shows how far back she spat the wood chips out.

This is as big a chips You will get bucking turkey oak, noodling is another story.

IMG_20220704_115052.jpg

P.S.:
One tank of fuel on 8 bucking cuts!

My "second" Dolmar PS-7900 with a very worn 24"/84DL chain came out to play too.
I used her to finish the remaining 1-2" bucking cuts.
All went well, no pinching nor other issues.
I will be splitting those rounds tomorrow AM after my nightshift.

Those rounds are so heavy, they are unmovable once they fall flat on the ground.
Rolling them while they are upright is barely just doable.

Some splitting fun waiting for me tomorrow. ;)
