Electric motors do smoke sometimes.
Maybe you should modify it? Upgrade the motor and battery and motor controller

On another note, I need a favor. I'm going to the outer banks again in June, last time I was there you gave me the JMS news. IF something like that happens again could you hold off until I get back home. Much appreciated brother.
